The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is the national trade body representing the Software and IT Enabled Services industry in Bangladesh. Founded in 1997, BASIS aims to develop a dynamic software and IT service industry in the country. With over 2,300 members, BASIS plays a significant role in the industry.
To address the industry’s skill gap, BASIS began its training initiatives in 2007. In 2012, these efforts were institutionalized with the establishment of the BASIS Institute of Technology & Management Limited (BITM), supported by the World Bank. BITM was created with the vision of becoming a world-class IT institute in Bangladesh, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of the country’s IT sector by producing a pool of qualified IT professionals and quality-certified IT companies.
