Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU) was established in Patna with its headquarters through the Bihar State Act No. 15 of 2016, which was notified in the Bihar Gazette on 29 August 2016. Operational since 13 June 2017 with the appointment of its inaugural Vice Chancellor, the university emerged as a distinct entity from the Bihar Agricultural University. It absorbed two constituent colleges, namely Bihar Veterinary College and Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology, both located in Patna. Additionally, in 2018, a new College of Fisheries was established under the BASU umbrella.
Transcripts from BASU contain the marks of each subject from the first to last semester. This is then placed in an envelope which is sealed and stamped/signed across the back-flap.
