The ICFAI University, Raipur, was founded under Section 9(2) of the Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operations) Act 2005, and its establishment was officially notified on March 25, 2011. Empowered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to confer degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956, the university is authorized to grant recognized qualifications. Additionally, the university’s Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programs are accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Moreover, the institution holds membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) based in New Delhi.
