Established in 2006 by the Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust, Muhammad Ali Jauhar University is a private university located in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), it was granted university status by the Uttar Pradesh government in 2012. Led by Chancellor Azam Khan, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, the university received minority status from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) on May 28, 2013.
